THE OLD RAILWAY FROM BORGIANO

Full day trekking along the track of the old railway on the stretch Spoleto – Caprareccia’s Tunnel in a succession of tunnels, bridges and viaducts, admiring a railway engineering masterpiece purely built in alpine style but greately placed in the typical apennine landscape.

DIFFICULTY: T Easy
ROUTE LENGTH: 14,8 km
ALTITUDE difference in ascent and descent: 480 m.

NOT SUITABLE HIKE FOR CLAUSTROPHOBIC PERSONS due to the presence of many tunnels without lighting.

Duration: more or less 6 hours (breaks included). Hiking times are approximated and could suffer important changes due to weather conditions, environmental conditions and group training level.

IN CARE OF EACH SHARER BEVERAGES AND SNACKS PACKED LUNCH.

Not suitable hiking for kids under 10 years old.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Electric headlamp or electric torch, spare batteries, trekking boots or shoes with hiking soles in good conditions, long trousers and suitable clothing for trekking, knapsack, protective waterproof jacket, antirain cape, hat, snacks and water at least 1,5 liters.

RECOMMENDED: trekking sticks, sun glasses, protective sun cream in summer.
